On October 23rd, the Wildcats lost to the Wilton Beavers 3-1 in the second round of Regionals over in Wilton. This is the 4th time we have played them this season, and it’s the 4th time we’ve lost to them.
Durant lost the first game with a score of 25-21, but came back the second game and won 25-21. Sadly, they couldn’t come back the last two games and ended up losing both with scores of 25-20 and 25-17.
Junior Kamryn Meyer led the team in kills having 22 of them. Junior Aubrin Dittmer was right behind her having 14 of them.
Meyer also led the team in digs having 18 of them. Juniors Hannah Happ and Dittmer were right behind Meyer both having a total of 17 digs.
“We were very excited to play. We felt confident and prepared. At times we played great, but couldn't keep the mentality the entire night,” said Happ.
Junior Ruby Kappeler led the team in assists have a total of 44. Happ came next with four.
“It sucks because we should have beat them, but we kind of gave up in the last two games so that's what made us fall short on beating them,” said Kappeler.
Meyer also had a total of 3 aces to help the team. Ruby also had three.
“I think losing to anybody sucks but when it's your rival and you play them four times it leaves a terrible taste in your mouth,” said Meyer.
