The Tree Board for the City of Durant is planning a tree planting day at the four parks Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 8AM to 11AM. We are looking for some young students that would be able to assist with the tree planting. The holes would be pre dug, we just need able bodies to help lift the trees into the holes, mulch and water. We would like to have about 12-15 students, so we can divide up into teams to plant 3-4 trees at each park. We are also advertising in the News & Views monthly newsletter and the newspaper for volunteers. Would you be able to spread the word for anyone that may need community service hours or kids that would be interested? Please have anyone interested contact city hall by September 27th.  Contact Deana Cavin if questions 563-785-4451. Thank you so much for your consideration of our request.
